Policy Dialogue on Forests and Bioenergy

A Joint Project of
The Heinz Center
and
The Pinchot Institute for Conservation

The Heinz Center and the Pinchot Institute for Conservation are jointly undertaking a multi-sector policy dialogue to explore issues related to the expansion of various forms of forest-based bioenergy.

These include the production of liquid transportation fuels such as ethanol, generation of electricity from biomass, manufactured fuels such as pellets, and applications such as industrial use and combined-heat-and-power, CHP.

Dialogue participants include the energy and forest products industries, landowners, nongovernmental organizations, state and federal agencies, and other experts.

This is an evolving project, with meetings and other activities driven by dialogue participants, in consideration of current legislative and policy developments.
