REGIONAL BIOENERGY POLICY DIALOGUES
The Heinz Center and Pinchot Institute have begun a series of regional bioenergy policy forums as a means of expanding and deepening the dialogue about sustainability issue related to the expansion of forest bioenergy. These meetings will be followed by a second national dialogue session in early 2010.
These dialogues will have a similar mix of participants to the February 2009 national dialogue session – energy (fuels and power), forest products, forest management, landowners, environmental interests, state, federal and other governments, and academic experts. Each meeting will cover a similar set of themes, but will be tailored to the specific nature of regional issues and evolution of bioenergy policies. Meetings are by invitation and are relatively small to encourage active discussion among participants. Dialogue at the meetings will not be attributed to specific individuals or organizations.
