October 23-24, 2008 At the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign’s annual meeting, Jonathan Mawdsley co-chairs a Task Force on Pesticides and Pollinators that include representatives from US EPA, the chemical industry, academic researchers who study the effects of pesticides on bees, professional beekeepers, and agricultural growers groups.  Jonathan also provided an update to a plenary session about his work with beetle pollinators in Africa.  He is on the NAPPC steering committee.

This is the first study of tiger beetles in the Long Island pine barrens ecosystem.  Support for this work has been provided by the U. S. Department of Energy
